College of ACES scholarship awards will be made throughout the summer and into the Fall 2010 semester. Students will be notified through their Illinois email address if they are selected as a recipient of a scholarship or award.
Recipients are selected on the basis of specific criteria and academic merit. Scholarship recipients in most recent years have had a grade-point average above 3.0. (For some scholarships on the listing, students must also have applied for and received eligibility for, need-based aid from: Office of Student Financial Aid, 620 E. John Street, Champaign, IL 61820, phone: 217/333-0100 http://www.odos.uiuc.edu/osfa/)
In completing the scholarship application, the student answers a variety of demographic questions and 3-4 essay questions at the end of the form. Once the student submits the information, a listing of those scholarships for which the student appears to meet the criteria will be identified. The student can also ask to review a description of all the scholarships in the ACES Scholarship Database, and then ask to be considered for one or more from the listing by making a statement as to why the student believes he/she meets the stated criteria.
